Fremtind, now one of Norway’s largest insurance companies, chose OnBase as their archiving platform back in 2016 – at the time under the name Sparebank1 Forsikring. The merger between Sparebank1 and DNB in 2018 led to the establishment of Fremtind, and around the same time, Nobly established its presence in Norway. Since 2019, Fremtind and Nobly have worked closely together to ensure stable operations, efficient document management, and local support.
Large-scale document management – OnBase as a business-critical system
“If OnBase goes down, large parts of the business come to a halt,” says Hege Line, Head of Delivery for Shared Services at Fremtind – emphasizing how critical the system is for the company.
With over 200 million documents and a complex corporate structure, Fremtind needs a robust and scalable archiving system that can support mergers and future growth. OnBase was chosen as the platform to deliver stability, flexibility, and high performance across the entire organization.
OnBase is far more than an archive – it’s a platform that drives automated workflows, ensures correct access management, and integrates seamlessly with Outlook and other digital interfaces actively used in Fremtind’s daily case handling.
Experienced local partner
Fremtind has chosen an on-premise solution, where their internal team is responsible for the daily operation and configuration of OnBase. This gives the company great flexibility and control:
“It gives us an efficient workday and ensures that we maintain core competencies on the solution, which is important to us,” explains Hege Line.
When more complex needs arise – for example during major upgrades or troubleshooting – Nobly steps in with both support and consultancy services.
An important factor in this collaboration is Nobly’s local presence in Norway:
“Having local consultants available adds significant value – it creates closeness, understanding, and faster problem-solving,” says Kenneth from Nobly.
The partnership is built on trust and respect for Fremtind’s technical independence – but with Nobly as a reliable support when it truly matters.
Focus on compliance
Compliance is a key area of focus for Fremtind – especially when it comes to data security, access control, and documentation. OnBase and Nobly play important roles here: OnBase as a robust and compliance-friendly platform, and Nobly as a forward-thinking and committed partner.
“I see Nobly as a serious player that works actively and systematically with compliance – and that is clearly important to us,” says Hege from Fremtind.
Nobly has, among other things, acted as a pilot supplier in efforts to meet the new DORA requirements and has delivered both advice and solutions that strengthen traceability and control.
Fremtind and Nobly have over the years built a partnership where stable document management, local presence, and a shared understanding of business and compliance have been crucial. OnBase serves as a solid backbone for Fremtind’s document management – and Nobly as the partner ensuring the platform supports both daily operations and strategic goals. This is a collaboration we look forward to continuing!
