Fremtind manages over 200 million documents – with help from Nobly

When over 200 million documents form the backbone of the business, there’s no room for downtime. That’s why Fremtind, one of Norway’s largest insurance companies, has chosen a stable and secure archiving environment with OnBase by Hyland – and Nobly as its local, reliable partner.

Fremtind, now one of Norway’s largest insurance companies, chose OnBase as their archiving platform back in 2016 – at the time under the name Sparebank1 Forsikring. The merger between Sparebank1 and DNB in 2018 led to the establishment of Fremtind, and around the same time, Nobly established its presence in Norway. Since 2019, Fremtind and Nobly have worked closely together to ensure stable operations, efficient document management, and local support.

Large-scale document management – OnBase as a business-critical system

“If OnBase goes down, large parts of the business come to a halt,” says Hege Line, Head of Delivery for Shared Services at Fremtind – emphasizing how critical the system is for the company.
With over 200 million documents and a complex corporate structure, Fremtind needs a robust and scalable archiving system that can support mergers and future growth. OnBase was chosen as the platform to deliver stability, flexibility, and high performance across the entire organization.

OnBase is far more than an archive – it’s a platform that drives automated workflows, ensures correct access management, and integrates seamlessly with Outlook and other digital interfaces actively used in Fremtind’s daily case handling.

Experienced local partner

Fremtind has chosen an on-premise solution, where their internal team is responsible for the daily operation and configuration of OnBase. This gives the company great flexibility and control:
“It gives us an efficient workday and ensures that we maintain core competencies on the solution, which is important to us,” explains Hege Line.

When more complex needs arise – for example during major upgrades or troubleshooting – Nobly steps in with both support and consultancy services.

An important factor in this collaboration is Nobly’s local presence in Norway:
“Having local consultants available adds significant value – it creates closeness, understanding, and faster problem-solving, says Kenneth from Nobly.

The partnership is built on trust and respect for Fremtind’s technical independence – but with Nobly as a reliable support when it truly matters.

Focus on compliance

Compliance is a key area of focus for Fremtind – especially when it comes to data security, access control, and documentation. OnBase and Nobly play important roles here: OnBase as a robust and compliance-friendly platform, and Nobly as a forward-thinking and committed partner.

“I see Nobly as a serious player that works actively and systematically with compliance – and that is clearly important to us,” says Hege from Fremtind.

Nobly has, among other things, acted as a pilot supplier in efforts to meet the new DORA requirements and has delivered both advice and solutions that strengthen traceability and control.

Fremtind and Nobly have over the years built a partnership where stable document management, local presence, and a shared understanding of business and compliance have been crucial. OnBase serves as a solid backbone for Fremtind’s document management – and Nobly as the partner ensuring the platform supports both daily operations and strategic goals. This is a collaboration we look forward to continuing!

Nobly will provide secure document management to Oslo Pensjonsforsikring (OPF) and contribute to the modernization of their archiving and case management with the OnBase platform. The solution will bring significant value to OPF through increased compliance, efficiency, and an improved user and customer experience.

Lars Haram, CEO in OPF and Morten Have, CEO in Nobly

The dialogue between Oslo Pensjonsforsikring and Nobly began back in March 2021, and it has been a productive and valuable process in which OPF has evaluated various solutions. This effort has now culminated in an agreement where, in the first phase, Nobly will migrate OPF from their current system, ESOP (SharePoint), to OnBase. From there, Nobly’s clear ambition is to expand the collaboration to include all of OPF’s case management needs.

Fredrik Anspach, Director of Pensions and Loans at OPF, explains why they chose Nobly as their supplier:
“OPF chose Nobly as the provider of our new archiving and case management system because we found that Nobly was the supplier best suited to meet our need for a more robust technological solution. This solution enables us to bring our case management processes into the future while also improving our ability to meet the ever-increasing compliance requirements related to our regulatory framework through OnBase.”

OPF is one of Norway’s largest and most financially solid life insurance companies, consisting of Oslo Pensjonsforsikring AS and Oslo Forsikring AS. With this agreement, OPF is taking a significant step toward streamlining their case management and archiving processes.

We are incredibly proud that Nobly has been chosen as a supplier in such a critical area, and we look forward to the project’s launch and continued collaboration with OPF.

OPF is also pleased with the partnership and optimistic about the future. Fredrik Anspach elaborates:
“Nobly has presented itself in a professional and constructive manner throughout the relatively long dialogue we had before entering negotiations on this collaboration, as well as during the negotiations that led to the agreement we have now signed.”

“We hope and believe in a strong partnership going forward, both in the project and operational phases,” says Fredrik Anspach.

A big thank you to everyone at Nobly who contributed to the process, and to our new partners at OPF for their professional and thorough requirements and procurement process.

With a company-wide focus on compliance, strong partners such as Microsoft Azure and North GRC, and a secure platform, OnBase, we are working diligently to ensure that you, as our customer, comply with data regulations.

Why is Compliance important for you?

From January 2025, the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) will take effect as a crucial framework ensuring resilience and IT security in the financial sector. This means that, going forward, you must be able to document that your suppliers are secure, responsible, and compliant with legislation. At Nobly, we understand that this is not only important for us as a provider – it is essential for you as a customer. That is why we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that we are a compliant and secure supplier.

Investing in Compliance

At Nobly, compliance is an ongoing process – not a one-time task. We continuously assess, adapt, and optimize our systems and processes in response to new requirements, regulations, and directives such as DORA, NIS2, and GDPR. We achieve this through:

  • Investment in the compliance team: We have strengthened our compliance team with a dedicated Compliance Officer, ensuring that we consistently meet evolving standards.
  • Collaboration with strong partners: By leveraging Microsoft Azure as our infrastructure and the compliance tool North GRC, our systems and processes remain robust, documented, and transparent. North GRC consolidates all compliance-related aspects in one place, ensuring policy updates and regulatory compliance. This provides us with the best foundation for maintaining compliance and helping our customers achieve the same.
OnBase: One centralized solution for your data

OnBase, a comprehensive Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform, offers a wide range of features that help businesses meet these new requirements. OnBase’s integrated solutions cover everything from document management and archiving to workflow automation, advanced security, and reporting, making it a powerful tool in the pursuit of compliance.

We understand that compliance is a “license to operate”, and we work proactively to stay ahead of the latest legal requirements and security standards. We prioritize transparency, security, and responsibility and see it as our duty to make compliance simple and reliable for you as a customer. Whether it concerns DORA, NIS2, or other regulations, we continuously adapt to changes in an increasingly demanding IT security landscape.

The Year in Nobly: 2024 in Review

2024 has been an eventful and successful year for Nobly. A year marked by growth, organizational changes, new collaborations, and product development. We have strengthened our foundation in 2024, paving the way for an exciting future.

Strategic Focus and strong growth

A major milestone in 2024 was the appointment of Morten Have as CEO on March 12. “It has been challenging but overwhelmingly positive to step into the role of director,” says Morten Have, adding, “I have encountered incredible support from both the organization and our partners.”

This year has been marked by targeted efforts to find our footing as an organization in transition, get closer to our customers, and strengthen our internal teams. These initiatives have brought stability and laid a solid foundation for future growth.

Once again, Nobly experienced strong growth in its subscription business (SaaS) in 2024, and our Professional Services division delivered excellent results on major projects for both existing and new strategic customers. Despite the year’s changes, Nobly achieved 16% growth in 2024. “Our finances are robust, and we are ready to take the next steps in 2025,” says Morten Have.

Highlights of the year

5. Kickoff Event
Nobly’s internal kickoff event in late summer was a memorable day filled with inspiring presentations that strengthened team spirit and reminded us of the importance of collaboration and shared focus. Particularly, Anders Nørregaard’s talk about rowing across the Atlantic was a highlight, offering plenty of food for thought.

High Expectations for 2025

With a strong 2024 behind us, we look forward to an even more ambitious 2025. We are eager to expand our customer portfolio and strengthen existing partnerships, both with customers and key suppliers such as Hyland and Microsoft. At the same time, we will focus on bolstering our healthcare division and solidifying our position as a healthcare partner in the Nordics.

Internally, we will continue to enhance our processes and systems to create a less personnel-dependent organization while strengthening our strategic leadership focus.

“We have built a solid foundation, and I anticipate an outstanding 2025. With our talented employees, close customer relationships, and innovative solutions, we are ready to take Nobly to the next level,” concludes Morten Have.

Nobly optimizes Skanska’s document management

Nobly has recently entered into a strategic partnership with the global construction company Skanska. Nobly will manage Skanska’s OnBase solution in Microsoft Azure while upgrading it to a new and improved version.

Skanska, one of the world’s leading players in construction and project development, has always prioritized innovation and efficiency. With a history dating back to 1887, the company has set the standard for how construction projects can be executed with maximum precision and quality.

How Nobly Creates Value for Skanska

Nobly is undertaking a complete modernization of Skanska’s OnBase platform, which will be hosted in Nobly’s proprietary Microsoft Azure setup. This ensures full control, high security, and a tailored solution customized to meet Skanska’s needs. This involves not just the migration of existing data but also an upgrade to a newer version of OnBase, unlocking new opportunities and improved performance.

The migration is not just about transferring data; it’s about establishing a future-proof infrastructure that allows Skanska to enhance their document management processes.

Once Phase 1 is successfully completed, we are prepared to implement best practices and introduce new features that can deliver additional value to the company. This includes a focus on further configuration and optimization of the OnBase platform in collaboration with Skanska’s team. By dividing the project into phases, we minimize the risk of disruptions to Skanska’s daily operations and create a solid foundation for further enhancements and development.

Nobly receives a Gazelle for the second year in a row

Nobly is honored to receive Børsen’s Gazelle Award 2024 in both Denmark and Norway, a testament to our dedicated efforts in creating sustainable growth and valuable solutions for our clients. We take great pride in this recognition – and are thrilled that our two Gazelles now have each other’s company at the office.

For Nobly, being awarded a Gazelle Award symbolizes that our growth strategy is yielding real, positive results. The award is only given to companies that demonstrate significant growth over four fiscal years, where gross profit must have doubled, and there must be continuous positive revenue growth. It is with great joy that we can once again say we meet these criteria.

However, for us, this title is about much more than numbers and graphs. At Nobly, we strive for meaningful growth and work to create solutions that make a difference for our customers and partners. For instance, we focus on developing our own products, which we tailor together with our customers to meet the unique needs of their industry – an approach that not only results in satisfied customers but also fosters long-term relationships.

Our collaboration with Alka Insurance illustrates this approach. Together, we developed Nobly Consent, which streamlines consent management in the insurance sector.

Ready for the future

Transitioning from a small, agile company to a scalable growth business has been both challenging and rewarding. To balance rapid growth with stability and quality, we have continually focused on developing a solid structure while maintaining the flexibility that defines Nobly. Preserving our core values and delivering high quality in everything we do has been crucial. This focus was a central theme at our internal Kickoff event in August, where we laid the foundation for the next steps on Nobly’s growth journey.

A heartfelt thank you to our customers, partners, and fantastic team

We extend our deepest gratitude to our partners and especially our customers, who continue to show support, trust, and engagement. We look forward to taking the next steps together. At the same time, being named a Gazelle company is only possible because of our talented and dedicated employees, who work tirelessly to deliver the best results for our clients. Their commitment and drive are the engines of our success.

This award is a great motivation as we embark on our next chapter. We have big ambitions and look forward to continuing our collaborations with both current and new customers and partners to create future solutions. We hope that Nobly’s story can inspire others to pursue their own growth journey and make a difference – just as our growth enables us to create greater value for those we work with.

Nobly Enters Strategic Partnership with Eurowind Energy

We are proud to finally announce that we have entered into an agreement with Eurowind Energy, marking the beginning of an extensive partnership focused on process optimization and automation.

With over 600 employees and operations in 16 markets, Eurowind Energy is a leading player in the development of solar and wind energy projects. As a growing company, they have an increasing need for flexible and efficient systems that can support their continued expansion and ambitious goals.

This is why Nobly has been chosen as a partner to implement a new enterprise content management platform. This solution not only ensures a consistent structure for document management but also enables the scalability and adaptability of the system to meet the company’s evolving needs. This is made possible by our comprehensive archiving solution and process support through OnBase, with which we have solid experience.

Morten Have, CEO of Nobly, says about the partnership: “We are extremely proud that Eurowind Energy trusts Nobly as an organization to take on this task and contribute to making Eurowind Energy’s processes more efficient.”

Future-Proofed Process Management

As an international growth company, Eurowind Energy operates with different work methods and systems. With a unified platform, they can ensure consistency across departments and countries, and easily integrate OnBase with the company’s other systems.

Nobly’s primary task is to support Eurowind Energy’s workflows throughout the organization. In the first phase of the partnership, Nobly will replace Eurowind Energy’s current archiving solution. We have engaged with all 16 of Eurowind Energy’s markets to ensure that the system accounts for all local workflows and, together, mapped out the requirements for integrating OnBase with Eurowind Energy’s other solutions.

Expanding Nobly’s Areas of Expertise

Historically, Nobly has primarily served as a partner for clients in the financial and healthcare sectors, where high security requirements are essential. The energy sector, which Eurowind Energy is part of, also has increasing security demands, making this partnership a natural extension of our expertise. Many of the processes we already work with in OnBase align well with the needs of the energy sector.

“We see the energy sector as a natural extension of our areas of expertise. The security requirements and process management we are experienced with in the financial and healthcare sectors can be applied to the energy sector, where the need for efficient and secure process management is growing.” – Morten Have, CEO of Nobly

The Future for Nobly and Eurowind Energy

The collaboration between Eurowind Energy and Nobly marks a new and exciting phase in the development of both companies. Together, we are working to create effective, sustainable solutions that can drive renewable energy forward.

As part of the partnership, Nobly will later this year train 40 key employees from Eurowind on how to use OnBase. This team of “superusers,” representing all of Eurowind Energy’s markets, will be essential in ensuring that OnBase delivers value across the organization.

We look forward to supporting Eurowind Energy on their journey towards a more digital, efficient, and sustainable future.
