Finnish Wellbeing areas
During the last few years, the Finnish healthcare area has undergone a big number of changes. Since January 1st, 2023, a new social and healthcare reform has been implemented, and 22 new wellbeing regions have been established. These wellbeing areas signifiy not just a re-structuring of administrative entities but a profound transformation that integrates healthcare, rescue services, and social welfare under one unified system. While this consolidation brings forth a multitude of advantages, it also contains several challenges that demand a strategic approach, especially in the realms of data structuring, information storage, and seamless system integration.
The amount of systems makes it costly to work with, as well as the amounts of information spread around in different platforms, many suppliers upgrading and giving support. This is not only time consuming, but also costly since it is difficult for various systems to work together across different healthcare areas. The change in this area needs to be redone in a more efficient way. Due to this structural change, there is also a need for change in the way Finland handles patient information and other data. And finally, the hospitals and customers need guidance for the issues and changes.
Nobly as your sparring partner
At Nobly, we are experts in structuring data, archiving, and centralizing systems. As a supplier to some Finnish hospitals, we are familiar with the Finnish healthcare system. Because of this, we acknowledge the issue and can be partners in finding the perfect solutions. This will not only ease the procedures among employees, but also improve patient care and security.
Nobly’s Electronic Archiving offers appropriate and secure archiving of old social security data. With the service, the old social security information can be transferred to Nobly´s archive in a customer-focused and quality-conscious way. Nobly´s OnBase based electronic archiving service carries out data transfers at high speed. The customizable structure of the service makes it possible to create a service package that meets the needs of the area.
Unstructured healthcare data is a significant challenge that hinders improved patient outcomes. Hundreds of archived systems or databases have been identified in all welfare areas, the information of which should be properly archived. This is best done by archiving the in-formation in the centralized archive, meeting the obligations of laws and regulations including SÄHKE2 requirements. After the data has been stored into OnBase, the source system is ready to be decommissioned in terms of archiving.
Maintenance costs are reduced when old information systems do not need to be maintained as data reserves. Other benefits of archiving are, for example, data security, data availability and data interoperability. This keeps patient data secure in storing the data for the right amount of time, sharing it with the right people and storing it in the right place.
Nobly can be your partner in structuring and archiving your data in a simple and compliant way, contributing to the efficiency and success of Finland’s evolving healthcare landscape. Contact us, and we will prepare a needs survey and make an offer for the implementation of the work.
